ACP247 Aircraft Dispatcher Course at Polk State College

Aircraft Dispatch Course

Aircraft Dispatcher Course at Polk State College – ACP247. Welcome to the inspirational, informational, and transparent aviation careers podcast. If you have questions, comments, inspirational stories, or announcements please write us at feedback@aviationcareerspodcast.com

The Aircraft Dispatcher Certification Program launched in February in direct response to the increasing need for aircraft dispatchers and is the only program of its kind in Florida west of I-95, serving as an attractive opportunity for those interested in the aviation industry due to the accessibility, affordability, and quality of Polk State and its Aerospace Program.

More than 30 employers nationally are actively seeking dispatcher candidates, and with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) projecting airline traffic to double in the next 20 years, employment opportunities will only continue to increase. For the 160,000 airline pilots nationwide in 2017, there were only 21,000 aircraft dispatchers.

Today we are visiting the Polk State College Aerospace to discuss the Aircraft Dispatcher Certification Program. The Aircraft Dispatcher Certification Program at Polk State College provides an accelerated path to a reward aviation career as an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher. The program is FAA-approved and offers all the training needed to prepare students for the required FAA knowledge and practical tests.

This program consists of 200 hours of instruction offered in an intense, accelerated format of daily meetings over as short as a five-week period at the Lakeland-Linder International Airport in Lakeland, Florida.

Students who successfully complete the training program and obtain their FAA Dispatcher Certificate can articulate their certification as college credit in our Professional Pilot and Aerospace Administration degree programs, providing additional value and enhanced career opportunities.

With me today to discuss the Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate Program is Adam Aboueid, Michelle Byroads, and John Ford.

It was wonderful visiting and speaking directly to one of the listeners. My next visit will be to New Jersey this coming week but I am not sure what airport. I am open to suggestions.
