Joshua Esch Mitchell Aviation Scholarship

Purpose:

This scholarship is for students who are enrolled full- or part-time at a college or university in the United States that provides an accredited flight science curriculum.  The Scholarship does not require attending a specific college. Annual awards for undergraduate (freshmen ineligible) students enrolled at an accredited postsecondary institution. Students must have a minimum 2.5 CGPA, financial need, and be pursuing a career as a professional pilot with an emphasis on General Aviation, Flight Engineer, or Airway Science. Number of awards and award amount may vary.  

Eligibility:

  • To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be second-year students or above with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
  • Applicants must be pursuing studies in the field of professional pilot with an emphasis in general aviation, Aviation Management, or Aviation Safety.
  • A valid pilot’s certificate (not to include a Student Certificate) is required.
  • A letter of recommendation from a professional in the aviation field is required. Applicants also must be US citizens.
  • Required area of Study: airway science, flight engineer, general aviation, professional pilot
  • Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need, personal statement, and one letter of recommendation from an aviation professional.

This scholarship gives $1,000, which is 43% lower than the average for all art-based scholarships and 43% lower than the average for all scholarships
