Chuck Freeland Memorial Scholarship

Purpose:

Since its inception, the AEA Educational Foundation has awarded more than $1.5 million to students seeking careers in the aircraft electronics and aviation maintenance industry, as well as technicians from AEA member companies.

Eligibility:

This scholarship will be awarded annually to an AEA member employee to be used for flight training.

Value:

$3,500

The scholarship application deadline for the 2017-2018 school year has passed. Please check back in October to submit applications for the 2018-2019 school year.

Application Submission Process and Completion Date:

  • A completed and signed application form
  • An official transcript (or valid copy)
  • Answers to both application “QUESTIONS” (below)
  • One 300-word type-written “ESSAY”
  • Your application must be sent, complete with your transcript, questions and essay to the AEA Educational Foundation by April 1, 2017.
  • Applications received without completed information will not be considered.
  • Transcripts sent separate from applications will not be accepted.

Award recipient must plan to pursue a PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE within six months of receiving
scholarship

Selection Process:

Winners will be announced in March. Scholarship monies will be disbursed July.

This scholarship honors Chuck Freeland’s impressive career of more than 30 years, his service to the AEA Educational Foundation and his unparalleled passion for flying and youth involvement in aviation.
